Kelowna nurse suspended for accessing patient's medical records

A Kelowna nurse has been suspended for breaching patient confidentiality rules. 

According to the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), Sondra Bader admitted to her “practice issues” on July 20. 

Bader accessed the medical records “of a person with whom [she] had no work-related purpose,” BCCNM said.

The confidentiality breach occurred on March 9, 2019.

Bader has voluntarily agreed to: 

BCCNM said it is “satisfied” that the terms of the consent agreement it approved with Bader “will protect the public.”
