If you’re a member of OGO Car Share Co-Op, you’re now a member of Modo.
Effective today, OGO has joined the Vancouver-based Modo, which comes with the same benefits and rates for OGO members.
This collaboration should enhance carsharing in Kelowna, which starts with a small addition of two more vehicles to Kelowna’s fleet and comes with long-term plans in the Okanagan.
OGO members now gain access to over 600 vehicles across Kelowna, the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, allowing easy transportation throughout these regions.
“OGO has worked hard to establish a carsharing network and culture in Kelowna over the past five years,” sai Martin Bell, a past OGO board member. “With member and board support, and the foundation laid, we’re now ready to join forces with Modo to take the service to the next level.”
There’s been a close knit relationship between OGO and Modo since OGO’s inception in 2013.
OGO Members already use Modo’s booking software and fobs to access vehicles, so the transition will be seamless.
With the region quickly growing and densifying, we expect to see carsharing play an even greater role in reducing traffic, congestion and parking issues,” said Patrick Nangle, CEO of Modo.
“Modo’s expansion to Kelowna gives OGO members more choice and access to an even larger fleet across the province."
Christian Brandt, OGO’s co-founder and executive director, will join the Modo team as the Okanagan’s Regional Fleet Manager.
