On Tuesday, Oct. 2, Kelowna’s fifth annual Inclusion Chain will come together once again and the entire community is welcome to join in.
Created in 2013, by Pathways Ability Society, a non-profit organization that provides services for locals with diverse abilities, the event was started as a way to showcase the diversity of our community.
“This event is a reminder of how important it is for a strong, healthy community to be inclusive. All individuals, regardless of their ability, contribute to our community,” said Charisse Daley, Executive Director for Pathways.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. on the steps of City Hall with Deputy Mayor, Ryan Donn, reading the official Community Inclusion Proclamation.
Afterwards, those in attendance will stand for the singing of our National Anthem, creating the chain along Water Street.
The Inclusion Chain also marks the first of several Pathway events taking place throughout October to coordinate with Community Living Month across B.C.
