After months of hard work, there aren’t many better feelings than opening your business to the public for the first time.

In Kelowna, a number of brewery owners have been able to enjoy that feeling over the last two or three years, as the craft brewery scene has blown up in the Central Okanagan.

Unfortunately, the city’s latest brewery is opening at a time where they won’t be able to have your typical grand opening celebration and flood of traffic over its first few days.

Jackknife Brewing announced on social media on Monday afternoon that they’ve “finally reached the finish line! Beer is being canned and the oven is hot!”

“We’ve somehow managed to open in the exact worst time for any new business, but we’re going to power through!”

Starting on Wednesday, Jackknife will be serving takeout pizza from noon until 7 pm from five days a week, as they’ll be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The brewery will offer a cheese pizza, a pair of meat pizzas and a vegetarian pizza that can also be made with vegan cheese as well.

You won’t have to wait long to try Jackknife beer either, as the brewery says it’ll be selling canned beer for you to take home by next week.

Jackknife Brewing is located on Baillie Avenue right next door to Kettle River Brewing.
