A local tattoo artist has brought home a well deserved award at the Saskatoon Tattoo Expo this weekend with her cat-themed masterpiece.

Don’t Look Down Tattoo, located in Downtown Kelowna, attended the expo this weekend, representing Kelowna and the Okanagan.

Their artists Michelle Grey and Clay Castles participated in the expo, which showcases the best Canadian and international tattoo artists. On Saturday, Grey won Tattoo of the Day, which, according to Charles Finnes of Don’t Look Down Tattoo, is “a big deal and well deserved.”

Finnie says the award is voted on by a panel of tattoo industry professionals.

"This not only showcases Michelle's skill but brings light to the talented tattoo artists that call the Okanagan home," he said.

The expo ran from April 13-15, and featured more than 250 artists and vendors.
