Kelowna taxi driver charged with sexually assaulting female passenger

A Kelowna taxi driver has been charged with sexual assault. 

Gagandeep Singh Sidhu, 37, is alleged to have assaulted a passenger in the early hours of May 26. 

She accused Sidhu of assaulting her while she was outside of the cab, having reached her destination. 

Sidhu was arrested on May 30 after the alleged victim spoke with police on May 28.

He was released on strict conditions and his chauffeur’s licence was surrendered. 

The Kelowna RCMP forwarded a detailed report to the BC Prosecution Service, with charges ultimately approved. 

Sidhu made his first appearance in court on July 4 and will make his next appearance on July 25 at 1:30 pm.
