Kelowna is getting its own taste of Hawaiian cuisine.

Pacific Poke is setting up shop in downtown Kelowna, right on Bernard Avenue near the Sails.

Pronounced Poh-keh, it’s the latest food craze. A raw fish salad traditionally served as an appetizer in Hawaii, Pacific Poke keeps the traditional style of the cuisine while adding their own innovative flavours.

Available as a build your own bowl experience, with a salad or rice base with toppings ranging from sockeye salmon, ahi tuna, crab and shrimp, Pacific Poke says they like to keep it fresh and minimally seasoned for the full taste of the quality ingredients.

There are also chef inspired creations on the menu so you don’t have to make all the hard decisions.

Pacific Poke started up in Vancouver, with locations popping up very soon in Calgary and Burnaby in addition to their stores on Vancouver’s Main Street, at UBC, and in Kitsilano.

The exact opening date of the Kelowna location isn’t confirmed yet. Pacific Poke says they are excited to be building in Kelowna, and are working on a timeline.

Hopefully it will be very soon for all those Poke lovers out there. Stay tuned Kelowna!
