Sometimes the simplest gestures can go a long way.

That was the case in Kelowna yesterday as Dr. Charissa Ridderbroek performed a standard neuter surgery for Gandalf the bunny.

Gandalf’s mom, Tammy Hobbs reached out to KelownaNow to explain how the Rutland Pet Hospital veterinarian went above and beyond during the surgery.

When Hobbs dropped Gandalf off for his appointment, she explained to Dr. Ridderbroek that he had a strong attachment to his stuffed bunny.

“Dr. Ridderbroek not only kept his stuffy with him before and after surgery, but also during,” said Hobbs.

“She discovered a tiny hole in the stuffed bunny's leg and sutured it closed for us.”

Hobbs told KelownaNow that they were so happy to have found “such a caring and experienced vet” and wanted to give the entire staff at Rutland Pet Hospital a huge thank you.

Gandalf is now at home recovering from his surgery alongside his best stuffed friend!
