(UPDATE: Nov. 22 @12:30 pm): Duke the golden doodle was missing for a brief period of time this morning after seemingly being stolen from his yard.

Duke's owners have reported that he has now been found after what appears to have been a misunderstanding.

(Original story: Nov 22 @ 11:27 am):

Veronica a Kelowna resident, told NowMedia this morning that her golden doodle dog was seemingly stolen from her yard less than one hour ago.

She is currently searching for her dog Duke, who went missing from their home on Abbott Street.

She says she let Duke out for five minutes with the gates closed and locked. She adds that Duke has never escaped on his own before.

Neighbours reported seeing two people pick up the dog from the home and drive away.

A report has been filed with the Kelowna RCMP, and Veronica is in the process of talking to neighbours for security footage.

Duke is described as very friendly and is a large dog (about 85 lbs). He has a white spot on his chest and his chin.

Veronica says Duke is safe to approach if seen.
