One of the most popular holiday movies of all time will be hitting the stage in Kelowna later this month.

Elf the musical will take over the Rotary Centre for the Arts from Nov. 30-Dec. 6, with 7 pm showtimes each night and 2 pm matinees on Saturday, Dec. 2, and Sunday, Dec. 3.

It will star Move 101.5 morning show host Stephen Keppler as Buddy the Elf, alongside a cast of more than 30 actors from Kelowna’s exciting art scene.

Bonnie Gratz is directing, with music direction by Neville Bowman and choreography by Larissa Campbell.

If you’re somehow unfamiliar with the beloved 2003 movie, Elf is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole.

He grows up alongside Santa and his elves, unaware that he’s human, but his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities soon force him to face the truth.

Buddy then embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity, all the while helping the Big Apple remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Tickets have sold very well so far, but there are still a handful remaining for all of the shows, but mostly the final three nights between Dec. 4-6.
