After a number of close calls with death, Kyle Gianis’ luck has run out.

According to police, Gianis died overnight following an incident at a campground near Enderby that resulted in injuries to a pair of women.

The North Okanagan RCMP was called to the scene shortly after midnight today for reports of two women being stabbed.

Officers were told that a male suspect was acting erratically due to possible drug impairment.

Multiple units, including the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, responded and the area was cordoned off as police searched for the man.

Finally, around 2 am, officers found him in medical distress "due to what appeared to be self-inflicted injuries."

They began providing medical attention until paramedics could arrive and take over.

“Despite the efforts of police and medical personnel, the man died at the scene,” explained an RCMP release.

“The BC RCMP can confirm that the man was one of the two individuals targeted in a Kelowna shooting on July 31 and was the subject of a public warning.”

That man is Gianis, who has been the subject of multiple attempts on his life over the years, the most recent coming in Kelowna over the long weekend.

The incident is now being investigated by the Independent Investigation Office of British Columbia, which means no further information will be released at this time.

No update was provided on the condition of the two women, but the RCMP said their injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
