Local businesses shine at 2017 Business Excellence Awards

A number of local businesses were honoured on Thursday night.

Twenty-seven finalists were narrowed down to nine winners at the 30th annual Business Excellence Awards at the Delta Grand Hotel.

It’s the largest business event of the year in Kelowna and a near record crowd of 400 people was in attendance on Thursday.

Here are the official recipients of 2017 awards:

  1.  ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: Rotary Centre for the Arts
  2. MARKETING CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR: CREW Marketing Partners
  3. EXCELLENCE IN AGRICULTURE: BC Tree Fruits Cooperative
  4. RISING STAR BUSINESS OF THE YEAR: Current Taxi
  5. YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR AWARD: Andrew Gaucher - GGroup & Catalyst Land Development
  6. SOCIAL IMPACT AWARD: Volinspire
  7. SMALL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR: Hybrid Elevator Inc.
  8. MID-SIZE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR: Newcap Radio
  9. LARGE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR: Northside Industries

In addition, Lane Merrifield of Wheelhouse Ventures was presented with the Business Leader of the Year award.
