What would you do to raise money for animals in need?
If you would spend time in a dog kennel, you have a lot in common with four Kelowna personalities that are coming together to raise money for the SPCA this week.
The Kelowna SPCA’s annual Lock-In for Love happens on Thursday from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and you’ll surely recognize a couple of the participants.
B-Mack and Karly from Sun FM, Klaudia Van Emmerik from Global, Brigitte Stapleton from FH&P Lawyers and Cam Buksa, a well known SPCA advocate and volunteer, are all getting locked up.
All four will be locked up, either in dog kennels or the SPCA’s kitten adoption room, and won’t be let out until enough money is raised.
“Lock-In for Love is a fun event that raises urgently needed funds for our community’s most vulnerable animals,” says Sean Hogan, manager of the BC SPCA Kelowna Branch.
“Participants share space with some cuddly SPCA canines and kittens while raising enough money to be let out.”
Last year, more than $20,000 was raised at lock-in events across B.C., which helps abused, neglected, homeless, injured and sick animals.
