Man, 37, killed in single-vehicle crash in Kelowna

Mounties are investigating a crash in Kelowna that left a 37-year-old man dead.

The single-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Doyle Avenue and Richter Street on Sunday shortly before 1 pm.

Emergency services arrived at the scene to find a white Chevrolet Malibu “extensively damaged.” 

The man, who was the sole occupant, was declared dead at the scene.

“The investigation has determined that the vehicle was travelling southbound on Richter Street when it crossed into the oncoming traffic lanes and struck a light standard,” police explained. 

“The cause of the collision is under investigation.” 

BC Coroners Service is also investigating the crash.

Any witnesses that have not yet spoken to police are asked to call the RCMP at 250-762-3300.
