Man arrested for morning robbery of Kelowna gas station

Police have a suspect in custody following a robbery of a local Kelowna gas station that occurred in Kelowna on Sunday morning.

According to RCMP, the 23-year-old male entered the Esso Gas station, located at 2380 Highway 97 N, at 10:30 a.m. and robbed the establishment at knife point.

He was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of cash from the Esso station. 

Police investigation led the to a local suspect who was arrested at his residence less than two hours after the robbery occurred. 

Additionally, police executed two search warrants in relation to the robbery leading to the discovery of a knife, a loaded sawed-off shotgun and other relevant evidence. 

The male will appeared in court on Monday on charges of robbery, possession of a firearm without a license and careless use or storage of a firearm. He was remanded into custody pending a future court appearance.
