Man in hospital following stabbing at a Kelowna orchard

A man was rushed to hospital from a Kelowna orchard on Monday night.

The 31-year-old reportedly underwent emergency surgery after being stabbed in the back by a 29-year-old man.

The two men were both seasonal workers living in a shared accommodation at the orchard located on the 4300 block of Old Vernon Road.

RCMP promptly took the 29-year-old man into custody, where he faces potential charges related to the incident.

The 31-year-old man continues to recover from his injuries, which police believe to be non-life threatening in nature.

“RCMP continue to secure the crime scene, as investigators with the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section await a warrant to search the property and gather physical evidence,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP.
