RCMP in Kelowna are investigating after an early morning stabbing sent a man to hospital with serious injuries.
On June 17, 2018 at about 2:40 a.m., RCMP received a report of a stabbing just committed in the 4000 block of Lakeshore Road in Kelowna.
A NowMedia reporter at the scene this morning saw multiple officers along Lakeshore road, just south of Lexington. The road was partially closed as police worked the scene. Blood and clothing could be seen on the road, and a police dog was also being used on the scene.
The 35-year-old victim sustained what are being described as "serious and potentially life threatening stab wounds." Police say the North Okanagan man was rushed to local hospital by BC Ambulance Service for emergency medical treatment.
“Kelowna RCMP general duty officers responded and arrested three individuals in proximity to the scene of the stabbing,” states RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey spokesperson for the Kelowna Detachment. “One of our police canines was brought to the scene to assist with a search for any evidence connected to the crime.”
Cpl. O’Donaghey adds that investigators believe this was an isolated incident, and that the public was not at risk.
