A new service is coming to Kelowna that will be offering dental services to less fortunate individuals around the city.

The Mobile Dental Hygiene Clinic is a dental RV that will offer its services to eligible low-income, health and mobility-challenged individuals in the Okanagan.

Starting with two days a week, the RV will move to different locations around Kelowna to make it more accessible to clients everywhere.

It will be run by a pair of registered dental hygienists and have a wheelchair lift for mobility-limited clients.

“This is a wonderful example of what happens when creative funding partnerships meet a critical need in our community,” said Laurence East, the Central Okanagan Foundation’s executive director.

“The Foundation’s purpose is to make our community a more resilient, thriving place to live. We are delighted to see this project become a success.”

The partnership East is referring to is between the COF and Hands in Service, and you can learn more by clicking this link.

It will hit the road in Kelowna this summer.

There will be a launch event on Thursday from 11 am until 2 pm at the Trinity Church (1905 Springfield Rd), along with another open house on Friday from 3 pm until 6 pm in the same spot.
