More recreation sites are open for public use just in time for the Okanagan’s first weekend of 30° weather.

As of Friday, May 29, beach volleyball courts and four new pickleball courts are up and running in West Kelowna.

However, while the beach volleyball courts located at Willow Beach on Gellatly Road and Pebble Beach on Whitworth Road are open, the City has temporarily closed the beach volleyball court at Pritchard Park for improvements.

Crews expect the Pritchard Park court to reopen by June 5.

The four newly constructed pickleball courts at Mount Boucherie Sports Fields are now open to the public as well.

Those new courts bring the total to 12 at the site, which is located below the western slopes of Mount Boucherie, off East Boundary Road.

Users must maintain safe social distancing of two metres and limit gathering sizes on the courts and sidelines to required players, officials and subs only.
