The cold weather has arrived, which means a lot of things.

For Kelowna’s public parks, it means closing public washrooms and turning off water fountains.

Even water services at off-leash dog parks will be shut off for the winter.

These closures are necessary to prevent pipes from freezing throughout the colder months of the year.

The only exceptions are the public washrooms at Stuart Park, City Park and Gerstmar Park, which stay open year round.

Weather permitting, all washrooms will reopen and the water fountains will be turned back on in early April.
