Kelowna RCMP has said there is no threat to the public after finding a man who was reported to have asked two boys if they wanted to get inside his truck.

The boys were said to have been approached by a man they didn’t know on March 22 at about 1:30 pm along Arbor View Drive.

He was reported to have asked the boys if they wanted to get inside his pick-up truck, but drove away when they said no.

The boys reported seeing the man “several times” around the time of the incident.

“Investigators have determined there was no criminal intent on his part and that he regrets causing the children, their families and the community concern,” police explained.

“We have confirmed that there is no threat to public safety in the incident.”

Late last month, a similar case was investigated, with police reaching the same conclusion.
