A number of flights have been delayed at Kelowna International Airport due to a backlog.

Foggy weather caused flights to land in Kelowna rather than Edmonton earlier today and it has “created a bit of havoc in the system,” an airport official told KelownaNow.

But the official sought to reassure passengers that YLW has a plan in place for such occurrences.

Among the delays are a WestJet flight to Victoria that was meant to take off at 8:30 a.m. but is currently expected to leave at 3:10 p.m.

A flight to Calgary – also WestJet – was meant to leave at noon but has been delayed until 6:03 p.m., the YLW website shows.
