Normally, the culinary students at Okanagan College (OC) are serving delicious food to the public, students and faculty of the college.

However, due to COVID-19 regulations, the culinary program had to get creative.

OC and Farm Bound are partnering to deliver local and organic food in the new Inspiration box.

The Inspiration box will include all the ingredients to make chicken za’atar, carrot and radish salad, pea risotto with asparagus, a DIY za’atar spice mix and access to several how-to videos created by OC’s culinary students.

“By purchasing the OC Inspiration box, you’re supporting our students, local businesses and hard-working families in our community,” says Stephen Speers, Okanagan College dean of trades and apprenticeship.

Farm Bound is a local farm to table company that supports local organic farmers and offers sustainable growing so customers can order produce year round.

For example, the release explains that some of the ingredients in this box were sourced from Armstrong, Kelowna and Creston.

“The College is a big part of this community and being able to incorporate students and help fulfill their learning curriculum feels incredible, especially in this current climate,” explains Farm Bound CEO Jaye Siegmueller.
