The owner of Mary Jane’s Headquarters has received two provincial licenses to sell cannabis.

However, you still won’t find any bud inside of a Mary Jane’s store.

Instead, owner Chris Gayford will open his new retail cannabis endeavor Cheeba Cheeba’s with locations in both Kelowna and West Kelowna.

The Kelowna location will sit two doors down from the current Mary Jane's Headquarters in Rutland while the West Kelowna location will be on Byland Road.

In February, Gayford's application for Cheeba Cheeba's Kelowna location was selected via a lottery system to proceed to city council for approval.

City council then approved the application in April and forwarded it to the province where it was only recently approved.

While Cheeba Cheeba's isn't expected to open for a couple months, Gayford is looking to hire staff for each location.

Hobo Cannabis on Springfield Road is currently the only provincially licensed cannabis store operating in Kelowna.
