Kelownians were treated to a magnificent Thanksgiving display last night as the heavens were turned green by the Northern Lights.

The beautiful spectacle – also called the Aurora Borealis – occurs when particles from the sun get caught in Earth's magnetic field.

Canadians across the country reported seeing the display.
