An entrancing split sunset amazed sky-gazers this week with its fiery colours, and our readers have sent in their epic captures of the sight.
Wesla English, meteorologist for NowMedia, says that there are likely more particles in the air where the glow is orange.
“It’s all about how the light refracts,” English explains.
She adds that dusty or hazy sunsets, where there is little or no wind to move particles around, are always more orange or red. During cool and clear nights, sunsets are usually bluer.
