Parks Alive!, Park and Play return this week

Summer is here, another long weekend has come to an end and residents of Kelowna can look forward to a number of nightly events returning to parks across Kelowna throughout July and August.

Parks Alive is kicking off their summer season with Golden Oldies at 6:30 pm on the 400 block of Bernard Avenue on July 5. Tuesday night’s show will wrap up at 8:30 pm.

On Wednesday, folks can enjoy Latin Beat with Made in Brazil, Major Mambo and Latin Vibrations at the Island Stage in Waterfront Park from 6 pm to 9 pm. 

Families can enjoy the Kiwanis Family Thursdays at Sarsons Beach from 6 pm to 9 pm.

On Friday and Saturday, Parks Alive will feature the Kick-off to Summer event from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm at the Pride Stage in Kerry Park.

Park and Play is also returning this week. The free all-ages event will be held in a different neighbourhood park around the city from 5 pm to 8 pm throughout July and August.

A few of those parks include Hollydell and Gerstmar Parks in Rutland, Quilchena Park in the Upper Mission, Rowcliffe Park in the central city area and Caro Park in Glenmore.

The whole family can head out to enjoy activities like soccer, disc slam, catch, bean bag toss, giant board games and more.

Parks Alive events will also be on site for select days, so be sure to check out those schedules for any crossover dates.
