One of the most highly-used trails in Kelowna is now closed for two months.

A large section of Paul’s Tomb Trail in Knox Mountain Park has been shut down and will remain that way until the end of May.

“Crews will be onsite rock scaling and constructing rockfall barriers along the east side of the trail,” the City of Kelowna explained.

“This work will mitigate rockfall hazards to improve safety for trail users as well as prevent damage to the trail by reducing the need for regular rock scaling.”

Signage is in place in the area to alert trail users of the closure and the rest of Knox Mountain Park remains open for those looking to get outdoors this spring.

While the main trail people typically use to get to Paul’s Tomb is closed, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get to the popular lakefront spot.

You can still access Paul’s Tomb through other, higher0elevation trails in Knox Mountain Park, or from Magic Estates.
