UPDATE: Kelowna RCMP seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run incident last week

(UPDATE: June 28, 2018) - The Kelowna RCMP are continuing to investigate a hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian on June 22. 

Police were able to locate the unoccupied vehicle an hour after the iincident at 875 Badke Rd, near the intersection of Franklyn Rd at Hwy 33. The vehicle is described as a  navy blue BMW 328I Series, 4 door sedan with after-market black 20’ spoke alloy wheels. The RCMP have released a photo of the vehicle. 

Police are seeking any witnesses who observed the vehicle or may have commercial security video, residential security video or dash cam video of the vehicle or may have observed the driver flee after abandoning the vehicle.

(UPDATE: June 22, 2018) - Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic continue to investigate a serious collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian along Rutland Road North in Kelowna's North end.

The BMW involved did not remain at the scene but has since been located. The driver has yet to be located or identified at this time. Kelowna RCMP Forensic Identification Unit along with the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) are currently enroute to the scene.

The pedestrian remains in serious condition at the Kelowna General Hospital.  

A portion of Rutland Road North between Fitzpatrick Road and Wallace Road remains closed at this time, as investigators secure the collision scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information that can assist this investigation is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250 762-3300.

Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic is presently on scene investigating a serious collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian along Rutland Road North in Kelowna's north end.

At 2:26 p.m. today, emergency crews were called to the scene of a collision between a pedestrian and a navy blue BMW I Series on Rutland Road North near Klassen Road in Kelowna. RCMP arrived on scene to find the seriously injured pedestrian lying unconscious but breathing in the roadway.

The male driver of the BMW did not remain at the scene and was last seen driving Eastbound on McCurdy Rd. The BMW will have front end damage and a broken windshield.

BC Ambulance Service rushed the injured pedestrian to hospital for immediate medical treatment. His current condition is deemed serious at this time.

A portion of Rutland Road North between Fitzpatrick Road and Wallace Road remains closed at this time as investigators secure the collision scene and await the arrival of a collision analyst of the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).
