Permits for a six-storey, 85-unit apartment building in downtown Kelowna could be issued on Monday.
During the May 27 council meeting, staff will be recommending support for the proposed project, which if approved would go up at 578, 580, 586, 590 and 602 Coronation Ave.
An application for this project was submitted in January.

There would be four bachelor units, 63 one-bedrooms and 11 two-bedrooms.
There would be 84 parking stalls in a “structured” parkade with vehicle access available off a lane way at the rear of the property.
The staff report says there would be 111 long-term bicycle spaces.
Common amenity space will be provided on the second storey on the rooftop of the parkade and on the rooftop of the building. These areas include outdoor furniture, shade structures, a dog run, and planters, the staff report says.

Staff are recommending support for the project because the proposal meets several Official Community Plan design guidelines.
That includes orienting primary building façades to the street and designing ground floor units with individual entrances and patios.
Staff say a “unified architectural concept” is expressed and the use of “back-of-house” uses, such as vehicle access from the rear laneway, also meet the design guidelines.
Staff say there are no variances being requested.
