Police investigating after woman grabbed in 'inappropriate manner' in Rutland

Kelowna RCMP is investigating after an alleged assault in Rutland on Saturday night. 

According to police, just before 5 pm, a woman was walking near Dodd and Bach Road when an unknown man ran up and "grabbed her in an inappropriate manner." The man then fled on foot before RCMP arrived. 

At the time of the incident, the woman was walking with two friends. The man was last seen running through the area of Hemlock Road. 

“The victim was not injured as a result of this assault,” said Cpl Jocelyn Noseworthy. “But she was extremely shaken by the experience. We are urging the public to remain vigilant and report all suspicious or criminal activity immediately.”

The suspect is described as a 6' Caucasian man with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black mask, a grey jacket with the hood up and blue jeans.
