UPDATE: Power restored in Central Kelowna

(UPDATE: Jan. 21 @ 6:00 pm): FortisBC has updated its outage map to confirm that power has been restored to the area. 

No cause was updated for the outage. 


(UPDATE: Jan. 21 @ 5:30 pm): Power has been restored for some residents, but those around Guisachan are still impacted. 


(Original Story: Jan. 21 @ 5:15pm): Just before 5 pm the power went out for residents in Central Kelowna. 

The outage is impacting an estimated 2,772 around Pandosy St. and Springfield Rd. 

As of now, the cause for the outage remains unknown. 

A NowMedia reporter walked through the area and lights are out at the Gordon and Guisachan intersection, meaning motorists must adhere to a four-way stop in the meantime.

There is no estimated time of restoration, but crews are working to explore all available options to restore power.
