Developers are once again proposing a large project for a prime lot along Lakeshore Road.

Situated across from Gyro Beach, the development dubbed "Cabana" features two six-storey buildings accommodating 130 housing units as well as eight retail stores.

However, its most notable feature is the 520 square foot waterfall that would face towards the park.

“The South Pandosy neighbourhood is quickly urbanizing and is one of the most desirable places for young professionals to live and work,” states a letter from Meiklejohn Architects.

“We have designed Cabana to be the focal point of this newly emerging densified neighbourhood.”

While a similar development proposal was submitted to planners in 2017, it never received approval by city council.

Cabana is only one of the multiple large development projects currently being considered for the area.

A block to the north, two towers standing approximately 15 storeys featuring nearly 450 units have been proposed at the Willow Creek Campground aite.

Mission Group has also submitted plans for a large project dubbed "Aqua" further down Lakeshore Rd next to the Eldorado Hotel.

As for Cabana, there is no clear timeline for when council will first consider the development permit application.
