Public skating returns this week to the Rutland Arena, Memorial Arena and Capital News Centre.
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 12, residents of Kelowna can visit any of the three skating rinks for some family fun.

Fees (taxes included) for public skating include:

$3 for children five years and under, parent + tot skate and seniors (65+)

$4 for children six to 13 years

$4.75 for general admission

$12.50 for a family skate pass (maximum of five people)

A 10 visit punch card can be purchased for $37 and a 20 card costs $70
Sign in is required and masks are mandatory upon entering any of the three arenas and when lacing up.
Masks are recommended but they are not mandatory on the ice because each arena will be following Public Health Orders.
Those orders state that indoor organized events with less than 50 people, proof of vaccination is not required but contact tracing information is required.
The City explains that proof of vaccination will be required during special events such as the Family Holiday Skate event.
Visitors are reminded of some skating etiquette:

Circular skating only, no aggressive skating or hockey

Skates on the ice only, no boots, but wheelchairs and strollers are allowed (helmets strongly recommended)

No food or drinks on the ice

No sleds or chairs but EZ bars are available for new skaters and children
