UPDATE: Hwy 97 reopens after fatal crash near Kelowna International Airport

(UPDATE: June 24 @ 5:44 am): Hwy 97 has now been reopened.


(Original story: June 23 @ 6:01 pm): Kelowna RCMP is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Hwy 97.

Just before 4 pm, police responded to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the intersection of Hwy 97 and the north end of Old Vernon Rd.

The northbound lanes of Hwy 97 are currently closed at Airport Way, with northbound traffic being redirected onto Airport Way.

RCMP is requesting motorists to avoid the area during this time.  

Drivers can expect significant delays on northbound Highway 97.

Kelowna RCMP is requesting any witnesses to please come forward, or if anyone has any dash camera recordings from around the time of the collision to also contact the Kelowna RCMP at (250) 762-3300.
