Kelowna RCMP is searching for a group that performed multiple grab and dashes for thousands of dollars worth of electronics.
Just before 3:30 p.m. on December 12th, RCMP received a report of a theft that was committed from the Best Buy a part of Orchard Park Shopping Centre. Police officers were told by a store employee that a group of as many as six people grabbed electronics and fled from the store on foot.
After speaking to several witnesses, police learned that the suspects were last seen at an apartment building on Durnin Road. While responding to the initial call for service, police learned of a similar grab and dash style theft from two more businesses in the mall.
“The investigation into all three incidents, which police believe to be carried out within just minutes of one another and subsequently related, is continuing at this time,” said RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “Our investigation will include a review of the video surveillance footage of the mall and any nearby businesses.”
In total, it is believed to be thousands of dollars worth of tablets and cell phones taken by the group. At the time, the majority of the suspects have been described to police as non-white males, each wearing dark clothing, hoodies, hats and in some cases masks.
