(UPDATE: Nov. 10 @ 4:10 pm) – A fundraiser has been created for the young man who was assaulted Tuesday afternoon.

Amber Biglow, her son Liam and his friend Austin started the fundraiser for their friend shortly after news broke that he had been assaulted and taken to the hospital.

Dallas was riding his bike along the rail trail, near Dilworth Drive, when two men approached him, assaulted him and stole his bike, shoes and cell phone.

On the fundraiser page, Biglow explains that Dallas has suffered a fractured skull and collapsed lung.

"It has been very scary for everyone and we are all so worried for him and his friends are just trying to rally around him right now," Biglow told NowMedia.

"We don't have a lot of information because it's hard for him to communicate right now but we did hear he was heading back into surgery late this afternoon."

It is unclear how long Dallas will have to stay in the hospital but he will be unable to attend school and work for some time.

Biglow adds that Dallas is only 17 and on his own, working full time during school to support himself.

"Financially Dallas supports himself, he has friends and family in his life though for emotional support," said Biglow.

The fundraiser was created to ease any stress that he may be experiencing and to replace his stolen cellphone.

The RCMP were able to recover his bike and shoes shortly after the event took place around 3 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 9.
