In this episode of Rick and Friends, Rick Maddison is joined by James Kay, the vice president and COO of Acorn Communities – he is also running for city council in the fall.

Kay wants to “help guide the city through critical decisions,” which will enable the city to grow and pose greater benefits to the community.

He has experience in civil engineering and running a small business in Kelowna, which he believes puts his candidacy in a strong position.

"The role as a councillor is to listen, provide critical analysis and ask critical questions,” he says.

Kay understands that growth is essential and residents need to be supported. He emphasizes the importance of success through building consensus and getting people onside with decisions.

He plans to explore options, come up with alternatives and provide solutions, which he believes are needed now.

Give this episode a listen to hear about Kay’s campaign initiatives and how he plans to improve the efficiency of the city.
