Kelowna's Candy Cane Lane is set to open this Friday, December 1st.

Close to 70 homes will be lit up with a bit more than your average Christmas lights to celebrate the annual tradition in the Kelowna's Rutland neighborhood.

"Every year it gets brighter and brighter," said Candy Cane Lane spokesperson John Sharhon. "We have a bin for donated food, which we give to local women shelters, the John Howard Society and Boys and Girls club."

Candy Cane Lane takes place along Collison Road, Gramiak Road and Mary Court, which actually come together to form a giant candy cane!

Last year Candy Cane Lane donated over 10, 000 pounds of food to local organizations.

"I really recommend walking the route because it's breath taking," said Sharhon.

"It will make you feel like a kid again."
