UPDATE: Power restored to several hundred customers affected by outage in Rutland

(Update @ 5:40 p.m.): Power has been restored by FortisBC.

(Update @ 3:22 p.m.): FortisBC has pushed back the expected repair time to 5:45 p.m.

(Update @ 2:46 p.m.): FortisBC is now expecting to have the outage repaired by 3:12 p.m.

The cause of the outage has been listed as "third party damage". 

(Original story @ 2:28 p.m.): There has been a power outage in Rutland.

FortisBC’s outage map is reporting that 536 customers are without power in the area.

The area affected is from Rutland Road N east to El Carlo Road.

From south to north, the outage affects an area roughly between Hwy 33 and Hardie Road.

FortisBC workers are heading to the scene.

There is no word yet on when power will be restored.
