UPDATE: Hwy 97 reopens near Kelowna airport after lengthy closure

(UPDATE: June 1 @ 1:25 pm) - The southbound lanes of Hwy 97 have finally reopened near Kelowna International Airport.

They were closed for more than 12 hours after a single-vehicle crash late Wednesday night, which you can learn more about here

(Original story: June 1 @ 8:15 am) - Crews remain at the scene of an early-morning crash on Hwy 97 near Kelowna International Airport. 

The southbound lanes of the highway are closed and DriveBC says the next update will come at 9:30 am.

A detour is in effect and motorists should expect delays.
