One of Kelowna’s biggest races is ramping up to return next month and the organizers behind it are making a call out for volunteers.

The 25th edition of the SunRype Okanagan Marathon will welcome over 3,000 participants to downtown Kelowna on Oct. 19 and 20.

Over 300 volunteers are needed to fulfill various positions on race weekend, including course marshalls, setup crew, kids zone supervisors and more.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to dive headfirst into marathon culture, gain experience and meet new people all the while supporting local and visiting athletes.

As a thank you from organizers, there will be a volunteer appreciation event at the Kanata Hotel on Monday, October 21. Attendees will have the chance to win prizes, be treated to a nice dinner and celebrate a job well done.
