Two teenagers were rescued after getting lost on a hike in Kelowna on the weekend.
Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) said the youngsters became stranded in Black Mountain Regional Park on Saturday.
They had set out in the late afternoon and “gotten disoriented” when they tried to head home in the darkness, COSAR said.
“When they realized they were in trouble they did the correct thing to call for help and stop moving,” the volunteer organization explained in a Facebook post.

“This made the rescue a textbook operation.”
COSAR said the RCMP “pinged” the teenagers’ phones to obtain a rough idea of their location before rescuers on e-bikes rode out to find them.
They had become stuck on a “steep slope,” COSAR said.
“Both teenagers were unhurt but just a little cold,” the post explained.
