If you’re interested in foraging and everything else mushroom-related, there’s only one place to be on the weekend.

The Okanagan Mushroom Festival is set for noon until 6 pm this Saturday at Sandhill Winery and there’s plenty that will be packed into those six hours.

At Sandhill, there will be chef action stations with some top-end chefs, a mushroom gelato bar, mushroom foragers, mushroom farmers, talks, wine and plenty more.

If a chat with a mushroom foragers piques your interest, you can hop onto the foraging bus and head out into the wilderness yourself.

Scott Moran will lead that expedition and teach potential foragers about what kind of bounty is available at that time of year.

There’s also a long-table dinner with 46 seats available in Sandhill’s cellar room that will feature six courses of mushroom-focused food.

Even the dessert will have mushrooms and the whole thing will be paired with some delicious Sandhill wines.

Tickets for the event, which has been created by Start Fresh and Sandhill Wines, cost $20 and are available online.
