The Miss Lady of the Lake program has transformed over the years from a  beauty pageant to become an ambassador/ scholarship program for young women in Kelowna.

Lily Johannesson-Arndt received the title of Lady of the Lake, and Arianna Steinson as Kelowna’s Princess.

They will now join the 2021 Kelowna Ambassador team, and represent Kelowna at various events and volunteer opportunities throughout BC over the coming year as the province opens up again.

To get to this point the girls were a part of a six month training program which included public speaking, financial planning, area knowledge, self defence, and car maintenance.

There were five judged events in total with scholarships attached to most of the awards which were upwards of $1000.

Requirements for the event require the  candidate to be no younger than 15 at the start of the program and no older than 18 at the end of the program, as well the candidate must be a Canadian citizen and a resident of Kelowna.
