They’re words that country fans and night owls in Kelowna have been longing to hear for nearly two years.

The OK Corral will be open this weekend.

It was confirmed earlier this month that the popular bar would be making its highly-anticipated return to Kelowna’s nightlife this summer, but now we have an official date.

On Friday night, the Corral will open to the public for the first time since closing its doors in July 2020.

Over recent weeks, work has been underway inside and outside to get the country cabaret ready for its return, but it's expected to look much like you remember it.

"We'd like to keep the same feel that the Corral has always had," spokesperson Francesca Hall told KelownaNow on May 12.

"The Corral patrons have always been family here, so we'd like to have that same idea behind everything."

Hall added that there has been plenty of anticipation as the reopening date nears.

"I like to say people are champing at the bit," she noted. "We've really, really had people messaging us non-stop every day of every week."

Well people can stop messaging, because the grand reopening has been confirmed for Friday, so dust off your cowboy boots and get ready to two-step late into the evening!

Ben Klick will be providing the tunes on opening night and Aaron Goodwin will be playing a show at the Corral on June 9.
