(UPDATE: Aug. 14 @ 2:35 p.m.) - One of the two men who walked away from the Golf Centre on Benvoulin Road with 350 golf balls has turned himself into police.
According to Kelowna RCMP, the man came forward and told police that he had no idea the act would be considered a crime.
"The individual has agreed to work with the impacted business to come to a resolution which satisfies all parties involved," explained Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.
(Original story: Aug. 13 @ 1:55 p.m.) - The Kelowna RCMP are looking for a pair of men who walked away from a local driving range with hundreds of golf balls.
Police responded to the Golf Centre on Benvoulin Road around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6 for the reported theft.
The two unknown men rented three buckets of golf balls for a $45 fee, but they allegedly loaded the buckets full of balls into their Suzuki Sidekick and drove away.
In total, the 360 golf balls are worth more than $400.
Anyone who can help the RCMP identify the two men, who were caught on video surveillance, is asked to contact Solana Paré of the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
“We would also like to encourage the two men, to demonstrate the proper 'etiquette' and come forward to speak with police, or at least return what doesn't rightfully belong to them,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
