Salmon Arm RCMP have taken two individuals from Kelowna, including a 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, into custody after a truck was stolen in the Silver Creek area.

On Feb. 13, police received a call shortly after 4 p.m. that a 2018 GMC truck was stolen, and a black vehicle seemed to be associated with the theft.

Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle using the OnStar feature, finding it and the suspects in Sorrento. The suspects were boxed in by police vehicles, and in the process, the black vehicle was also caught when it pulled up next to the stolen truck.

In the investigation, the 2018 truck was recovered for the owner along with a stolen 2003 Focus which had been stolen from the Enderby area.

The stolen 2003 Focus was being operated by a female and that vehicle contained winter clothes, a snowboard and boots which were reported stolen shortly after the police recovered the property. The snowboarding equipment was stolen from a car in the Silver Creek area.

The two individuals are in custody at the Kelowna RCMP detachment and are awaiting a bail hearing later today. They will be facing possession of stolen property charges.
