The UBCO Management Students Association are ready to kick off another year of their 5 Days for the Homeless campaign.

The event sees university students sleeping outside on campus for their school week as a means to raise funds and awareness for Kelowna's homeless population.

The 20 students participating this year are unable to shower, change clothes, eat (unless the food is donated) or use electronics unless it is for school, while they are participating. The must also still attend classes and help with the other events hosted in support of the campaign.

For around the past six years, the students have been participating, they have donated funds to local organizations that support Kelowna's less fortunate. In 2017, the students donated $3,500 to H.O.P.E. Outreach and will be supporting them again this year.

To start things off, some of the participating students are hosting a "Kick-Off Breakfast" at Kerry Park. They are making and selling pancakes by donation, as well as hosting a silent auction with great prizes until 1 p.m. this afternoon.
