Thursday, Sept. 13 marked the launch of the United Way CSO campaign in the Central Okanagan.

The 2018 campaign kick-off is in the context of UWCSO’s new three-year strategic plan focused on supporting the communities’ most vulnerable - kids, youth, families, individuals, and seniors. The plan includes a three-year campaign goal to raise $4 million.

Funds raised locally stay local and may be used to buy essentials for babies, provide healthy breakfasts for children, or provide resources for women fleeing partner violence.

United Way CSO serves 22 communities, from Lake Country to Osoyoos and Penticton.  In 2017, 60,000 people in the region were supported by United Way initiatives.

If you’d like to support the campaign, there are two events coming up.  The 7th annual South Okanagan Drive-thru Breakfast will take place Sept. 20 at the Penticton Lakeside Resort, starting at 6:30 a.m. and on Oct. 11, the 20th annual Maxine DeHart Ramada Hotel United Way Drive-thru breakfast which begins at 6 a.m.
